Proper Way to Use a Nasal Spray
For most nasal sprays, tilt your head slightly forward.
Point the spray away from the middle of your nose (also called the nasal septum). Imagine you are targeting the outside or temporal corner of the eye (lateral canthus). This helps to insure that the medication arrives at the lateral nasal wall where it can be most effective. It also helps to insure that the delicate membranes on the anterior surface of the nasal septum do not become irritated or excoriated which can lead to troublesome nosebleeds.
Gentle breathe in while spraying into the nose.
