Welcome

Celebrating Over 80 Years Of Service!

The American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA) represents over 2,700 Board-certified otolaryngologists and health care providers. Otolaryngology, frequently referred to as Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), uniquely combines medical and surgical expertise to care for patients with a variety of conditions affecting the ears, nose, and throat, as well as commonly related conditions. AAOA members devote part of their practice to the diagnosis and treatment of allergic disease. The AAOA actively supports its membership through education, research, and advocacy in the care of allergic patients.

"Advance the comprehensive management of allergy and inflammatory disease in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery through training, education, and advocacy."

PATIENT CORNER

CEO Update, September 2025

“Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change”  — Steven Hawking

There are days technology can seem overwhelming.  Then there are days when it seems to help everything fall into place.   With so many platforms and sources, you really can build your own adventure. Craft your own path to content engagement.

Much like Mother Nature and many of her creatures, we all have to adapt. And better yet, make our adaptation an improvement. What was it Einstein said?  “Nothing happens until something is moved?

AAOA is moving in new directions!  We are working to adapt for your benefit as well.

Over the last year and a half, we rolled out our new Affinity program in response to so many of you reporting that practice expense is one of your biggest challenges.  Working with US ENT, AAOA members can gain best in class pricing on antigen and allergy supplies, as well as accessing group purchasing (GPO) pricing with over 38 additional ENT-focused vendors.    Practices are saving anywhere from 5-25% just on their allergy costs. We would love to help save you and your practice money too.  For more information, contact Evan Parker on our staff at eparker@aaoallergy.org.

As we build out our 2026 strategies, your committees are working on ways to package content in new formats. Looking to expand our YouTube and Podcast series, we would love your feedback on what kind of content resonates. Some ideas center around assessing the different practice models and gaining insights into pros and cons of each, how to navigate new contracts, and pathways to building a better staff culture to improve retention. Other ideas focus on practice tools and resources — from new patient education resources to help address common questions, building off our successful pediatric and geriatric patient YouTube videos to practice tools to help improve ROI and practice and patient flow. We will marry these new practice focused tools with the latest in clinical break throughs and managing challenging cases. The best part is we can make this whatever you want.

What are your hot buttons?

Where could you use insight from peers?

Any topics where you would want to be part of the panel discussion?

Any insights you can share on what works?

Let us know by emailing me your ideas at advocacy@aaoallergy.org.  We look forward to your ideas and insights
