The American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA) represents over 2,700 Board-certified otolaryngologists and health care providers. Otolaryngology, frequently referred to as Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), uniquely combines medical and surgical expertise to care for patients with a variety of conditions affecting the ears, nose, and throat, as well as commonly related conditions. AAOA members devote part of their practice to the diagnosis and treatment of allergic disease. The AAOA actively supports its membership through education, research, and advocacy in the care of allergic patients.

Offering a unique hybrid format to all both face-to-face and virtual learning opportunities, the 2022 AAOA Annual Meeting offers a blend of hot topics, state-of-the-practice, emerging trends, and research for its members and registrants.  Sessions will span clinical and practice management topics from dosing, trends in immunotherapy, biologics, surgery vs medical management, and testing techniques to hot topics around practice efficiencies, staffing and staff team culture, adding service lines, and more. Content Area

The AAOA CME program centers around clinical issues related to the diagnosis and management of allergy/immunology and inflammatory diseases of the airways and systems related to the head and neck in today’s comprehensive ENT practice.

The Annual Meeting focuses on:

      • Peer-to-peer sessions focusing on a variety of topics such as gastroesophageal disorders, immunology, chronic cough,  allergy emergencies and anaphylaxis, sleep disorders,  setting up an allergy practice, and more

Target Audience

The Annual Meeting is structured for otolaryngologists integrating more allergy assessment and management into their practice, AAOA members providing specialized allergy care who need to remain current with literature-based evidence and practice trends, residents, PA/NPs who work in otolaryngology, and allied health staff who support their physicians in the management of allergic patients. The Annual Meeting offers face-to-face opportunities with the faculty to discuss nuances and answer questions.

Expected Results

The Annual Meeting is intended to advance physician competence and performance and is intended to result in improved patient care outcomes. Upon completion of the course, participants should demonstrate competence in the evaluation and management of the allergic patient, including utilization of appropriate testing techniques, implementation of environmental control, delivery of allergy pharmacotherapy, and delivery of safe immunotherapy.

Accreditation Statement

The American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA Credit Designation Statement

The American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy designates this live activity for 17.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. The amount will be determined based on the final agenda. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABOHNS Continuing Certification Recognition Statement

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn their required annual part II self-assessment credit in the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery’s Continuing Certification program (CC, formerly known as MOC). It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of recognizing participation.

Looking for More Value? AAOA is now aligned to offer CME credits for eligible ABOHNS Diplomates for Continuing Certification (CC). As an AAOA member can choose to participate in ABOHNS Continuing Certification credits (CC Part II: Self-Assessment credits by click the CC option when registering for this activity.  Make sure you update your member profile when you register to help assure you can receive Continuing Certification credit.

As our pilot year, the AAOA is making the participation in ABOHNS Continuing Certification credits (CC) free for AAOA members with this CME course registration. CC opt-in option is complimentary until the course ends. You will be asked to pay $100 late fee if you miss the deadline and still want to claim Continuing Certification credits (CC) for this activity.  Non Members can also participate in ABOHNS continuing certification for an additional fee.

COVID-19 Safety

To reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, we are adopting a policy to safeguard the health of our members and the community at large. The AAOA strongly encourages all attendees at AAOA meetings to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

As part of AAOA’s new policy, all attendees, upon arrival at our event and in order to be allowed to enter the event space, are required to show documentation of either 1) full vaccination against COVID-19 or 2) proof of a negative COVID-19 test performed within 72 hours of arrival.

Acceptable documentation includes:

  • Physical vaccination card
  • Digital vaccination record
  • Photograph of vaccination card
  • Physical or digital proof of negative test results

AAOA meeting attendees must also take precautions to prevent acquiring breakthrough infections and follow CDC guidelines regarding masking, social distancing, etc. AAOA recommends the use of masks in the meeting space. Additionally, attendees must adhere to all requirements and guidelines of the State of Pennsylvania, the City of Philadelphia, and the event facility to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the 2022 AAOA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.

Registration Fee Rebate

*Annual Meeting registration fee is $295 for members—F2F/In Person or Virtual. As a benefit to any member staying in the AAOA Loews Philadelphia room block, you will be rebated the $295 registration fee. So make sure to Book Your Hotel Room at the AAOA room block to get a rebate.

This rebate is ONLY available for attendees in AAOA’s Room Block at Loews Philadelphia.

The rebate will be issued 30 days after the meeting concludes.

Member Candidate

A Member Candidate must have completed the membership application before the Application Deadline (45 days prior to the annual business meeting, approximately July 26st) to take advantage of the member rate. Learn More

Cancellation Policy

Registration fees are non-transferable. Refunds for paid registrations (less a 50% administration fee) may be considered for cancellations received in writing by the AAOA prior to August 9, 2022.

Cancellations received after August 9, 2022 are non-refundable.
